Looking at those pictures, I could not help but thinking of how wonderful life journey was as your labor of love to your homeland makes a memorable effort. All the laughters, smile, instilled love on culture and heritage, not to mention the patriotism aura in the "Ba Kelalan, My Home Sweet Home" songs which was composed by Sohn Gukang and written by Lonnie Dawat - both are anak Ba Kelalan who are gifted with music and lyrics, warmed the humble village. Enough to charm our valuable guests who come to visit this simple village on the highlands.
I am glad how younger children have had chances to witness the cultural performances, listening to Bamboo Band, seeing the real form of Lun Bawang attires during this time as I know that in the future as modernization blend into culture - things will loss its authenticity but with this live show happened around them, I know it will blend into their soul and pictured in their heart.
I am one of them many years back. But with different experiences and pictures.
Today, people often asked me why do I like to travel into the remote area of Krayan in Kalimantan rather than Europe, America, Hong Kong or England? Why not Bangkok, Cambodia, Hanoi or Phuket?
They all can wait. But I have found treasure of my past in this remote area with intact jungle, intact culture, simple and authentic.
Whenever I trekked in the jungle, I knew nature blend with my soul. They knew me, I am merely a lady grown up with that surrounding. Every faint sound of rustling tree tops, coolness of the jungle and beautiful sounds of cicadas are well familiar to me.
Each time, I feasted my eyes to the fresh greenery of the forest and beautiful formations of tall trees. It warmed my heart.
It is also a grace and blessing to have reliable, efficient and good team mates who contribute to a success of an events too. They are durable, under massive amount of stress and workloads - They have worked their heart out - for the people and for the Land. Bless their warm heart.
