Mount Murud

In twelve days time, I'll be scaling this prayer mountain again for my 9th time (if i'm not mistaken). Mount Murud is the highest mountain in Sarawak with 7950ft above sea level and located in Pulong Tau National Park in between Bario and Ba Kelalan. However, it is easily accessible from Ba Kelalan because locals may drive you in 4x4WD to Lepo Bunga and you will start hiking from there. During clear sunny day, from the peak you may see the villages of Kalimantan, Bario, Ba Kelalan and Long Semadoh. You may even see Mount Api in Mulu. During 'spring' time, you would be able to see various types of blooming orchids and other flowers (its protected) at the 'Rock Garden' in between the Church Camp and the summit.

But that is not all about Mount Murud!

As usual, every two years, a christian revival meeting for all nations will be held here and people will come from everywhere to worship God and to seek His face.

And each time I attend the meeting, I always encounter different experience with God. It has been prophesized that this mountain will be the place of blessings and sanctuary of releasing ones burdens. Which I found is true.

The journey is undeniably challenging and hard but as you reach the church camp, you will feel the feeling of unspeakable peace and comfort. You will feel that God is near and His very presence is there. Its not that I'm saying that God can only found there, but, its the solitude and serenity of the place will help you to focus more on God and thus your inner man will be stronger and you will feel the presence of God and listen to His voice more clearly.

The meeting will be starting on the 19th -23rd July 2007. For more information, you may email me at sandytww@gmail.com.
